The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, or VMAs, will be held on 30 August at the L.A. Live venue in Los Angeles, California.

Being one of the most watched award ceremonies in the world, the MTV Video Music Awards have naturally attracted the attention of bookies.

Which Categories Can You Bet on This Year?

While the VMAs have a whole range of categories for which competitors can receive an award, Paddy Power is only offering you the chance to bet on the most important one, namely “Video of the Year”.

Who Are the Nominees for Video of the Year?

There are 5 nominees for the 2015 Video of the Year award and you can bet on each one of them.

Let’s take a look at who they are and the odds offered for each one by Paddy Power.

Beyoncé — “7/11”

The video for Beyoncé’s club banger “7/11” was shot to resemble a home video with the singer showing off her curvacious body and dancing in different settings.

Although the video already won the Video of the Year award at the 2015 BET Awards, Paddy Power gives it the worst odds from the list of nominees, namely 12 to 1.

If you believe the video can pull it off and reel in another award this year and you turn out to be right, you’d make a lot of money on your bet.

Kendrick Lamar – “Alright”

Filmed in both Los Angeles and San Francisco, Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright” is a staggering 7 minutes long and shot entirely in black and white.

In addition to being nominated for the Video of the Year award, the video also received nominees for 3 other categories at the 2015 Video Music Awards.

But with odds of 7 to 1, it doesn’t seem to be on Paddy Power’s list of favourites to win this year.

Ed Sheeran – “Thinking Out Loud”

Also nominated for Best Male Video, Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” was shot in Los Angeles and features the singer dancing with Brittany Cherry.

Although it has amassed an amazing 620 million views on YouTube, Paddy Power give the video odds of 11 to 4 for this year’s Video of the Year award.

Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars – “Uptown Funk”

Directed by Bruno Mars and Cameron Duddy, “Uptown Funk” stars Mark Ronson, Bruno and the Hooligans. Shot on multiple locations while Mars was on tour, the video is the 15th most viewed video on YouTube of all time.

Yet, despite all that, “Uptown Funk” is only the runner up when it comes to Paddy Power’s favourites for the prize. The bookies has given the video odds of 2 to 1.

Taylor Swift featuring Kendrick Lamar – “Bad Blood”

Kendrick Lamar may not be the bookies’ favourite with his video for “Alright”, but his collaboration with Taylor Swift might just see him snatching the Video of the Year award with “Bad Blood”.

Given the video’s star-studded cast, this comes as no surprise. In addition to Swift and Lamar, the mega-hit also features Jessica Alba, Cindy Crawford, Selena Gomez, Lena Dunham, Cara Delevingne, Ellie Goulding, and a host of other stars, all playing the role of superheroes.

Giving it odds of 6 to 4, Paddy Power is clearly adamant that the video will be chosen for the 2015 Video of the Year award.
